People from Saint Tropez gather each year on the same date to celebrate their devotion and loyalty to their Saint Patron. For over 450 years now, la Bravade de Saint Tropez has taken residence in the city from 16 to 18 May.

Dignitary of the house of Neron, in 68 after J.C., St. Torpes – the Saint Patron – refused to renounce Christianity. He was then beheaded and thrown on a boat of the shore, and then discovered by a Roman matron and hidden by Christians who made this martyr the patron of the city.

On the occasion of La Bravade de Saint Tropez, the unforgettable military past of the city is also celebrated. Following the attacks from land and sea, the town was rebuilt, fortified and repopulated from the fifteenth century. These new inhabitants had to defend the city, on which it was necessary to ensure night and day.
